Welcome! (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how we collect, use, and share your personal data when you use our mobile application (“App”) and related services (together, the “Services”), and how you can exercise your rights.

Please read this Policy before using our Services. By using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Policy.

If you have questions, you may contact us using the details in Section 9 — Contact Us.

1. What Personal Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve the App. We do not sell your personal data. Data is collected in a lawful and fair manner and may include: (a) data you provide directly; (b) data collected automatically when you use the App; and (c) data we receive from third-party service providers where applicable.

1.1 Personal Data You Provide to Us

  • Support and feedback. If you contact us for support, feedback, or inquiries, we collect whatever information you choose to provide (e.g., name, email address, and the content of your message). We do not require an account to use the App, so you are not asked to register or log in.

1.2 Personal Data We Collect Automatically

When you use the App, we may automatically collect:

  • Identifiers and device data. To deliver and maintain the App, our infrastructure and third-party providers (e.g., app distribution and update services) may process identifiers such as a unique app instance or device identifier, IP address, and general location inferred from IP (e.g., country or region). We may also receive device and technical information (e.g., device model, operating system, language, time zone) as is common for mobile apps.

  • Usage and interaction data. Data about how you use the App (e.g., that you opened the App, used the timer, or reset it) may be collected in limited form by our service providers for stability, security, and improving the service. We do not use this for advertising or cross-app tracking.

  • Local data stored on your device. The App stores timer-related data only on your device using local storage (e.g., start time, pause state, and accumulated pause duration). This data is not sent to our servers and is not used to identify you. You can delete it at any time using the “Clear Data” option in the App’s About screen.

1.3 Personal Data We Receive from Third Parties

  • App stores. If you obtain the App through the Apple App Store or Google Play, we may receive limited information from the store (e.g., that a download or update occurred, or device/platform information) as permitted by their policies. Payment for the App or in-app purchases, if any, is handled entirely by the store; we do not collect or store payment card details.

  • Build and update services. We use Expo Application Services (EAS) and related Expo tooling for building and, where enabled, delivering updates to the App. In that context, we or Expo may process data necessary for builds, updates, and diagnostics (e.g., device or session identifiers, crash or error reports if you have opted in or where required for the service). Such processing is subject to Expo’s privacy policy and our agreements with them.

1.4 Sensitive Personal Data

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (e.g., health, biometrics, precise geolocation, or other categories treated as sensitive under applicable law). If we become aware that we have received such data, we will handle it in accordance with applicable law.

2. How We Use Your Personal Data

We use your personal data only for the following purposes:

Purpose What we do Typical data Legal basis (where GDPR applies)
Providing the App Deliver the timer and related features, fix bugs, and ensure the App works on your device. Identifiers, device/technical data, local timer data (on device only). Necessary for contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Storing timer state locally Save your timer state (start time, pause state) on your device so it persists between sessions. Start timestamp, paused flag, pause start time, accumulated pause duration (stored only on device). Necessary for contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Stability and performance Improve stability, security, and performance (e.g., via crash or error reporting where used). Device/technical data, limited usage or error data. Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Service communications Send important, non-promotional messages (e.g., critical security or policy updates) if we have a way to contact you. Contact details you provided. Contract or legitimate interests.
Legal and safety Comply with law, protect our rights, and ensure safety of our users and systems. As needed for the purpose. Legal obligation or legitimate interests.

We do not use your data for advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, or selling your information. We do not build profiles about you for marketing.

3. How We Share Your Personal Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only where there is a valid legal basis (e.g., consent, contract, legal obligation, or legitimate interests) and only with the following types of parties:

  • Service providers (processors). We use providers that process data on our instructions to operate the App (e.g., hosting, build/update services such as Expo/EAS, and, if we use them, analytics or crash-reporting tools). We require them to protect your data and use it only as we instruct.

  • App stores. Apple and Google may collect and process data in connection with downloading, updating, or paying for the App, in accordance with their own privacy policies.

  • Legal and safety. We may disclose data where required by law, to protect our or others’ rights, or in connection with a merger, sale, or restructuring (with the same commitments to this Policy where applicable).

We do not share your personal data with advertising networks for targeted advertising. We do not sell or “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA, except as required by law or with your consent.

4. International Transfer of Data

Our operations or service providers may be located in countries other than your country of residence. When we transfer personal data to a country that is not recognized as providing an adequate level of data protection, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or UK authorities, or other mechanisms permitted by law). You may request details of the safeguards we use for a specific transfer by contacting us (Section 9).

5. Data Security and Data Retention

  • Security. We implement reasonable technical, organizational, and physical measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Because timer data is stored only on your device, its security also depends on your device’s security (e.g., lock screen, encryption).

  • Retention. We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes in this Policy or as required by law. Timer data stored on your device remains until you delete it via “Clear Data” or uninstall the App. Data held by us or our processors is deleted or anonymized when no longer needed, unless we must retain it for legal reasons.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as:

  • Access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Correction. Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Deletion. Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Restriction. Request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances.
  • Portability. Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format and, where technically feasible, transmission to another controller (e.g., in the EEA/UK).
  • Objection. Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; that does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
  • Complaint. Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country.

How to exercise rights: Contact us at the email in Section 9. For data stored only on your device (e.g., timer state), you can delete it at any time using Clear Data in the App’s About (info) screen. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (e.g., 30 days under GDPR/UK GDPR, 45 days under CCPA/CPRA where applicable). We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children (as defined by applicable law, e.g., under 13 in the U.S. or under 16 in the EEA). If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it in accordance with applicable law.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes (e.g., in the types of data we collect or how we use them), we will post the updated Policy and, where required by law, obtain your consent or give you a way to accept the changes. The “Last Updated” date at the top indicates the latest revision. Continued use of the App after the updated Policy is published constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy to the extent permitted by law.

9. Contact Us

For any questions, requests, or complaints about this Policy or our handling of your personal data, including to exercise your rights:

We will respond as required by applicable law.

10. Jurisdiction-Specific Information

10.1 EEA, Switzerland, and the UK (“Europe”)

  • Legal basis. We process your personal data only on a valid legal basis under the GDPR/UK GDPR: performance of a contract with you, your consent, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests (e.g., improving the App, security), where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

  • International transfers. When we transfer your data outside the EEA or UK, we use adequacy decisions (where applicable) or appropriate safeguards such as the EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses. You may request a copy of the safeguards we use by contacting us.

  • Representative. If required by law, we will designate a representative in the EEA/UK and publish their contact details here or in the App.

10.2 United States (e.g., California, Virginia, Colorado)

  • Right to know. You may request information about the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes, sources, and categories of third parties we share with, and similar details to the extent required by state law.

  • Right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing.” We do not sell your personal information for money. Under broad definitions in laws such as the CCPA/CPRA, sharing identifiers with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising can be a “sale” or “sharing.” We do not engage in such advertising in the App; we do not sell or share your personal information for that purpose. If our practices change, we will describe how you can opt out (e.g., via in-app settings or by contacting us).

  • Right to correct. You may request correction of inaccurate personal information where required by state law.

  • Right to delete. You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.

  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights, except where permitted by law.

  • Authorized agents. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf; we may require proof of authorization and verify your identity as allowed by law.

  • Appeals. If we decline a request under applicable U.S. state law, you may have the right to appeal; we will inform you how to do so and will respond within the time required by law.

Contact us using the details in Section 9 to exercise these rights.

This Privacy Policy is intended to be comprehensive and clear. By using our app, mobile or web, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.
